General information
Traditional fire separations can be very decisive for the appearance of a room. But, according to the Building Decree, compartmentalization is indeed a requirement. This dilemma between appearance and function can be solved by using Firescreen® Fire Curtains. Our R&D department has developed an attractive solution, the Firescreen® Radiation, a fire resistant fire curtain made of a high-quality fire-resistant textile. A compact solution, with limited installation space, which can be used inconspicuously in your building.
Applications
Firescreen® Radiation Fire Curtains with the EW classification ensure direct compartmentalisation in case of a fire and limit heat radiation. This prevents the spread of fire to adjacent fire compartments, even if there are flammable objects close by. The fire will be kept inside the main fire compartment in order to give the fire department a better chance. The Firescreen® radiation fire curtains have also been tested and approved for 10,000 open and close cycles to ensure its working when it is needed and thus protecting people and property.
EW Criteria
Firescreen® Radiation fire curtains not only meet the structural integrity (E) criterion, but also reduce heat radiation to a maximum of 15 kW/m2 (W). This prevents heat radiation on the non-fire side of the fire curtain from causing a fire due to spontaneous combustion. All Firescreen® Radiation fire curtains are therefore suitable to create main fire compartments without the need for large and costly investments.
